Wonder Walk Scavenger Hunt

Give your kids specific things to find while out and about, wherever you are!

If your kids like a challenge, give them a time limit, or get them to compete against each other (first prize is a hug from Mum?? 🤣)

It may be better for them to simply ‘see’ things, rather than collect things which they may think is a bit babyish. They could take photos of what they find as proof (if required!)

With that in mind, here’s some ideas for what to include for them to find:

Countryside: something which is heart-shaped; 5 shades of green in the same scene; criss-cross lines (could be twigs could be airplane lines, could be electrical wires etc); an animal’s poo that’s not from a dog (eww!); the nearest sound; the furthest away sound; something man-made interacting with nature (a fence vs a tree for example); the alphabet, i.e. find letters within nature; someone with walking sticks; someone wearing headphones; a child skipping; someone in a pink pac-a-mac!

In a city: a person with a (green?) rucksack (or some other colour or pattern, depending how specific you want to be); a child holding a toy; a weird reflection of something which is outside but looks like its inside; twins; an orange sign; something that looks like a face but isn’t; three of the same colour and make of car together; someone wearing socks and sandals; someone wearing clothes for a different season (e.g. shorts in the winter; a woolly hat in the summer); someone singing; someone dancing; someone upside down!
