FAQs

Do I need to be creative/artistic?

1

Absolutely not!

Our sessions are for everyone - from the very beginner to the professional artist or designer. Regardless of our level of skill, we will all benefit and enjoy gifting ourselves time to be creative - because deep down, everyone is. If you’re worried about ‘not being able to do it’ - come and try. There is no pressure or judgement, and no ‘final masterpiece’ to produce. I can assure you that you’ll enjoy it and see the value.

Is there a tutor?

2

Yes and no.

There is no particular skill being taught, so there is no tutor to ‘teach’ you. However, I (Kate) am the host, and will guide you, provide multiple ideas, prompts and starters so there is no ‘fear of the blank page’, and encourage you to simply give things a try. I have had 25+ years working in various creative fields, and I’ll be there to support you throughout.

What makes you different?

3

We focus on providing you with an experience in which you are gifted the time to be creative; the resources to do so (and play with); and a big permission slip to let go of perfectionism, rekindle the child within you, and allow your creativity to shine through. It’s a wellbeing activity as much as it is a creative one. It provides you with the freedom to explore your OWN creativity, with no judgement, pressure or comparison, all while socialising with friends, or enjoying valuable me-time. The choice is yours.

What if I don’t know what to do?

4

You won’t be alone! But don’t worry. At the start of each session, there will be a Creative Starter which I set for the whole group - a very easy, fun activity that eases you into it - literally warming up your creativity muscles. After that, you can choose what you’d like to start with - there are multiple Creative Prompts to get you going, and our very own ‘Pick n Mix Ideas’ jar to spark your curiosity and lead you into your creative play.

Do I have to make the same thing as my friends?

5

No - that’s the beauty of this kind of workshop - it’s all about your own individual creativity. You get to choose what YOU want to do, and your friends get to choose their preference. But you can all still sit and chat together while you’re playing and creating.

Can I come on my own?

6

Yes! These sessions are the perfect time to have some ‘me-time’. You can get lost in your creativity and simply enjoy letting your creative juices flow. Everything is ready for you to start, and it all gets cleared up after you leave, so it really is the dream alone-time.

It’s also a great space to make new friends too if you want to. Everyone is so supportive and always lovely!

Is it suitable for beginners?

7

Yes! Most definitely! Come along and you’ll be amazed how good it feels.

Can I take what I make home?

8

Yes, everything you do is yours to keep if you want to. You may end up with multiple artworks, or just one or two more special ones that you really liked. Please note though that there is no promise that you end up with a ‘finished’ creation to take home - it’s entirely up to you whether you want to keep what you make or not. However, everyone always leaves feeling more creative and like they’ve done something good for themselves, which is a beautiful thing to take away.

Is it messy?

9

It can be, depending on what materials you choose (so please dress appropriately) - but it’s always in a good way!

Is Wonderlust for children?

10

Wonderlust is designed with adults in mind. It’s usually a space to escape the kids! However, if you have creative teens who will join in respectfully, then please let me know and I am sure they can be accommodated.
