Autumn/Halloween
🍂 See who can put the most items of clothes on in one go! Set a time limit and do it as a challenge if there’s a few of you! Get creative in what you define as ‘an item of clothing’! (I’m sure there’s a Friends episode where Joey does this??)
🍂 Get them to go on a walk - but 5-10 minutes ahead of you! (Obviously age-dependant, and only if you allow them to go out without you). The idea is that they have to leave clues along the way so that you can follow them! Or maybe they drop ‘breadcrumbs’ like Hansel and Gretel (although the breadcrumbs may get eaten or blow away of course!). What other ‘clues’ could they leave and where? Probably best to have phone contact required with this one!
🍂 Find all the different coloured leaves you can. Take photos of them if they don’t want to ‘collect’ them (often seen as too babyish!).
🍂 Draw patterns in mud (use a stick!). Or see who has the best footprint from the sole of their shoe!
🍂 Look at the reflections in puddles - really notice them and try and take a photo which can be turned upside down and still look kind of ‘right’ - try and create an optical illusion. his might be easier if its the reflection in a lake - also a good one to try and do!
🍂 Allow them to do YOUR facepaint for Halloween!
🍂 Pumpkin carving but with a difference. Depending on what you teen is like, make it scary or silly or pretty or even carve a word instead of a face! We even did one being sick (nice!)… (or maybe it’s beard??)
